Adults BJJ Programs

Adult BJJ programs offered at Commons Jiujitsu runs throughout the week, with classes suited for practitioners of various belt ranks & skill levels. Designed to help students systematically progress in a conducive and safe environment.

BEGINNERS PROGRAM

At Commons Jiujitsu, our beginners program is centred around laying a strong foundation in BJJ, combining sport-specific movement drills with core techniques so you not only learn how to do them but understand why they work while getting your body used to the movements of BJJ. The pace is welcoming and encouraging, making it an ideal place for new practitioners to start their BJJ journey.

FUNDAMENTALS PROGRAM

Open to all belts and skill levels, our fundamentals program introduces students the wider range of BJJ techniques and concepts, going beyond how to do them into to exploring why they work. Through live sparring and positional training, students also will develop the critical thinking and problem-solving skills that carry them further in the sport.

ADVANCED PROGRAM

Building on the fundamentals curriculum, our advanced program helps students to start connecting individual techniques into a systematic network of techniques through positional and reaction-based drills. With in-depth coaching, students can begin developing a jiujitsu style tailored to their own strengths.

NO-GI PROGRAM

Our no-gi grappling program takes the fundamental concepts of BJJ and translates them to grappling without the gi. We believe grappling is grappling: the same principles apply, with adjustments to grips and body positioning. The program focuses on teaching students how to use leverage and positioning to grapple effectively in no-gi.
